favorite {idea} friday
Austin Film Festival AND Austin Beer Week! My mind may still be reeling after the viewing of the bizarre and disturbing Black Swan film, but all in all, it was a fantastic week to return to the real world. This week {over on Once Wed}, a DIY wedding flooded the pages of the super cute wedding blog and is now burned permanently into my mind. In sharing, I hope to spread the inspiring and unique idea that will surely be a treasure for years to come…

hocus pocus
Ghosts and Goblins, Lady Gagas and Katy Perrys… YIKES, spoooooky! I can’t believe Halloween is this weekend. For the first time in four years my front yard isn’t decked out with skeletons, bats or spiders... the kids in my neighborhood should be very disappointed in me. But maybe I made up for the lack of home Halloween spirit in my shop, as the main table is loaded with yarn wrapped pumpkins, gold candelabras and eyeball wrapped napkins. Here’s to a Happy Halloween…

one dress for all
There is one, that one special dress that will flatter each body type. It needs to be something they love, that way they can wear it again. Color is of the upmost importance; after all, the table linens and flowers must all match—to the precise tone.
Is this your train of thought while selecting your bridesmaid dress? Well then, knock it off already. Seriously. It’s all a bunch of bologna! Not one specific dress will look perfect on all your bridesmaids, nor will they ever, EVER wear it again and, come on, mix it up by adding more color. Give your bridesmaids the choice. {Wait! That is, unless they dress horrible on a daily basis, then it is your responsiblity as a good friend to take them by the hand to help make the final decision.} But just look at how wonderful releasing control could turn out…
Okay, so I get it. Not all of us can pull off this wedding look, so for those of you... how about checking out this fantastic website with loads of perfect little dresses just waiting for your bridesmaids… Monday, October 25, 2010
one helluva week
Did you miss me?! Well, I’m hoping that I haven’t lost all my followers {yes, all five of you} but you must forgive me, last week was totally and completely a where-in-the-hell-did-the-day-go-whirlwind. Yep, great for the business, but not so great for my sanity, social calendar and health due to lack of sleep and poor meal decisions. BUT my blood-shot eyes, aching back, two pound weight gain and lack of social interaction was well worth it for the helluva wedding that concluded the eventful weekend with a massive BANG! I’ll spill the beans later, but for now, here’s a sneak peek of the sweet vintage, home spun wedding of Amanda and Bill…
rehearsal dinner arrangements by none other but Sweet Sunday Events
Congrats you two!!!

favorite {wedding} friday
This week’s favorite wedding is a bit self-indulgent, considering I’ve already bragged on Bre and Adam’s ahhhh-mazing wedding last month… but what the heck, here we go again! The super sweet and brilliantly creative Kelly Cameron of Kelly Cameron Photography sent over some fabulous sneak peek photos of the ceremony and reception and I just can’t keep them to myself for any longer. I must share now…

it has a nice RING to it
I’m not a big jewelry wearer. You will usually {okay, okay! ALWAYS} find me decked out with pearl suds and wearing a necklace of current obsession. After seeing these simply gorgeous rings, I may have to expand my daily jewelry selection...

take me to montana
Camping? Ugh, no thanks!... Glamping? Duh, Count me in! The last time I went camping {primitive camping} I came home with chiggers. Long story short, lesson learned. My husband first proposed the idea of glamping to me… several years ago… for our honeymoon… in Africa. Do you know what kind of beastly creatures roam the lands, night being prime hunting time and you are asking me to sleep comfortably, in the wild, with only a cloth sheet protecting me from the nocturnal scavengers in their natural habitat?! You have got to be crazy! But I would give glamping Montana a try… you don't find hungry lions and panthers or angry elephants and hippos there, do you?

favorite {wedding} friday
Some times there are weddings posted throughout the blogosphere that do absolutely nothing for me. Either it’s way too overdone or too simple, that I find it boring. BUT then there are other days that make my addiction to wedding blogs totally worth wasting away my lunch break behind a computer screen. These weddings pop from the screen and will forever be etched in my mind. Here’s my favorite from this week…
Isn't the use of paper surprisingly fantastic?! Hop on over to 100 Layer Cake for more photos of this unique wedding. Happy {ACL} weekend to you all!

a chance of rain
The days leading up to my wedding were rainy. Most brides would curl up in the fetal position a cry their selves to sleep because there was a chance that their perfect day was about to be washed away. But I didn’t freight. I didn’t want a change of venue. I didn’t care if my immaculate dress got muddy or if my hair went flat. I was getting married... nothing could ruin that! The only back up I had was to purchase a few clear “bubble” umbrellas from Target that my guests and wedding party could huddle under during the ceremony. Thankfully {and fortunately so}, it turned out to be a beautifully sunny no-need-for-umbrellas kind of day.
What I’m saying is: roll with it. If it rains grab some super stylish umbrellas and get married!

pretty little backdrops
Sometimes you need a little something extra to extenuate the aisle and capture your guests’ attention. I’m thinking {at least} one of these just might work in captivating your interest…

autumn inspires
You wouldn’t believe the perfect finds and little treasures we discovered for our humble abode and Sweet Sunday Events while at Round Top's Marburger Farm Antique Show. We learned to avoided shops with a roof and floor, those only meant steeper prices. I liked the tents. Better yet, the tents with weathered, pealed items full of dust strewn about without any rhyme or reason… ahhh, those were the best. What an amazing weekend of wonderful weather and overwhelming {in a good way!} antiquing… I couldn’t have ask for anything more… so with that, I welcome you, the month of October!
