Featured on SMP | Spanish Inspired

A few months ago Abbey and Andrea from Loft Photographie reached out to us for some business chit chat over coffee.  Fact: everything is better with a latte on the side; especially vanilla lattes.  Within about 2 seconds we could tell that these ladies ran in the same tribe and would be amazing to collaborate with.  And poof, we were planning a shoot!  With our powers combined we decided upon a Spanish Inspired photo shoot preferably staged in some kind of hacienda. After some investigating we found Rancho Mirando, the most beautiful estate out in the hill country, to be the perfect location.

It literally felt like we left Texas and landed in a quaint mountainside town in Spain. Inspired by a color palate of  soft tan, white, and ivory with pops of peach and emerald, the bouquet and table centerpiece were over the top beautifully romantic and lush.  Terra cotta additions of hand crafted skulls, pots, and brown leather trimmings pulled it all together. A candle lit aisle backdrop inspired by authentic Spanish tiles made the ceremony spot to die for.  The Stationery Bakery provided stunning hand painted paper goods and signs and Catering with a Twist took Spanish favorites and made a delicious dessert display.  Talk about working with the cream of the crop!  This shoot was a ton of fun and we loved teaming up with everyone to create something fresh and exciting.  Espero que lo aman!

Featured on GWS | Garden Party Shoot

I know I know, this year has been a little photo shoot crazy.  Between the real weddings, clients meetings for future weddings, daily shop upkeep, big plans for the Union on Eighth, and a little bit of sleep, it’s hard to believe that shoots get a healthy spot in line too.  They are just so darn addictive!  Before late summer and fall weddings get into full swing, we thought it would nice to bring you lovely folks a bright and cheery photo shoot full of happy color and pattern on pattern.

Teaming up with Erin from EEphotography is always a no brainer.  She is, hands down, the best.  So, when she suggested that we go to Chandor Gardens, just outside of Ft. Worth, we jumped at the opportunity.  Our Garden Party shoot took place in its beautifully maintained English gardens.  With our girl, Amanda Marie, in tow, she dressed the models in the perfect springtime garb. Using just about every color of flower available, the bouquet and table centerpiece were fun and whimsical with head pieces made of roses and butterflies.  A ceremony backdrop was made from paper butterflies fluttering into the wind and the low table scape set with a pink polka dot linen, vibrant napkins, and pattern happy pillow seating made the day perfect for a summer celebration.  Walls shielded by English ivy, custom made covered parasols fit for a king, and adorable paper goods from Stationery Bakery completed the look seamlessly.  What a fun way to ring in the sunshine and perfect weather.  Cheers!

life, as of late

It's seriously been 2 months since my last post? Life, to say the least, has been in.sane. I’m seriously juggling way more than I ever imagined possible. I feel guilty saying that, seeing as though everyone’s life is busy. But since I’m sure you are in the same boat, you can cut me a little slack, right?!
So, how about a condescend version of a life (aka, the things I took photos of!)…
remembered what real country music should be while at a Mark Chesnut concert. teamed up with friend and photographer, Todd White, for a Kinfolk inspired shoot (stay tuned for this upcoming feature on Ruffled!). with the husband gone for the night, I had a little slumber party with my other 3 guys, who are rarely allowed in the bedroom. showered one of the best friends with love as she preps to welcome a little bundle of joy into the world (as in a week from now!). took an amazing trip to Scottsdale and stayed at the ever so colorful Saguaro. stood in awe of Grand Canyon with my favorite person on earth. realized, more than ever, I should have become an architect after touring Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin West home. chose design details for The Union. made over 500 of these paper flowers (I have blisters to prove it!). spent time with 2 of my fave vendor friends, celebrating babies once again. meet with, provided quotes and mock'd-up for some amazing clients. celebrated 4 yrs with my amazing mister. found time to Sunday antique hunt (found this rocking horse for a future baby room!). couldn’t stop smiling after seeing our garden party shoot with EE Photography on GWS. showed the venue left and right, up and down. enjoyed styling a gorgeous shoot with Michelle Boyd Photography (also coming to Ruffled soon). pulled off a killer July wedding of all greenery. loved looking back at Meghan+Ryan’s big day via Wedding Chicks. spent lots of time on the lake with mi familia. swooned over our latest shoot on SMP with Loft Photographie. went land shopping, looking for the perfect spot to build our next home. saw a really great movie (The Way Way Back) at one of Austin’s best spots (Violet Crown). enjoyed seeing progress on our new business venture (The Union on Eighth).

plantation house shoot

It's pretty obvious that I love working with Erin, of EE Photography. Not only is she super talented and the nicest person you'd ever meet, but she also knows how to make a horribly cold and windy day look absolutely perfect. This shoot was prime example.
