It's been a month in the making, but alas, a glimpse into our fresh-one of a kind-Sweet Sunday Event designs...

Floral design, paper products, concept & color, tabletop design... yep, we do it all!

a short hiatus

Well, that was unexpected. A week passed without a new blog post. Trust me when I say, it wasn’t due to lack of subject or inspiration ideas {those flow through my head practically 24/7}. Ever since Memorial Day weekend the shop has been slammed with weddings and graduation parties, which is great fantastic but I have hardly found the time to take a breather while working nearly 14 days straight as we have also been planning Sweet Sunday Events’ next big move {more of that coming in the next few weeks}.

Since we last spoke I’ve eaten one year old wedding cake while in my wedding dress, visited a quiet Texas town, been to the Serengeti, watched and flinched as ducks {successfully!} dodge traffic, learned that I have an audience of cats observing my every move as I sew, been surprised with a trip {for our first chance of freedom from the shop}, bought a dust devil, sweated at least 10 lbs off on Sunday { I don’t need a scale to tell me this, I just know}, designed seven fabulous tables with amazing floral arrangements {more on that later}, had a runaway cat that finally returned after a long 24 hrs, been crafty, a neglectful friend {but that will all change come Friday!}…

year one

Last year {on this weekend} Justin and I married in a picturesque eastern coastal town that we quickly fell in love with after spending two weeks exploring all that Wilmington had to offer two years prior. Twenty five of our closest friends and family members enjoyed a weekend on the beautiful beaches of NC, experienced a haunted pub crawl lead by the fearless {and very enthusiastic} Digby, PBR ran through our veins, where we all squeezed {and I’m sure exceeded optimum capacity} in a Matrix, and foosball entertained the guys for hours on end {the list can go on and on and on but I’ll stop}.

Justin and I spent months contemplating on where, when and how we should get married. Knowing we wanted a small, intimate feel with only those we love the most in this world in attendance, we decided {after the idea of Mexico began to sound too predictable and all the venues around Austin started to look the same} on Wilmington. It took no time at all for us to then decide on… when: whenever the Airlie Gardens had an availability, where: ceremony under the 400 yr old oak tree and reception at Level 5, how: with the help of Courtney at Stellar Events. To make a long story short, Sunday, May 31, 2009, {our wedding day} was perfect. I wouldn’t change a thing and would love to relive it every day for my life. Our BIG day was featured on Style Me Pretty… enjoy the photos here, here and here {oh, and our day afters here} and have a fantastic weekend. I’ll see you Tuesday!
