a-list gowns go mainstream

Mondo was robbed! I could have sworn someone punched me in the gut and knocked the wind out of me when I heard that Gretchen {really, Gretchen!?!} was given the title of Project Runway Season 8 Winner. Soooo very, very disappointing. But you know what’s not disappointing? Vera, Vera Wang.
Hey, listen up, you high-style bride on a tight budget: you will be thrilled to learn that starting in early Spring 2011 Vera Wang will release a collection of bridal gowns exclusively for David’s Bridal. And wait for it… all of which will be priced under $1500 {commence squealing now} the line will also include accessories and bridesmaid dresses {the non-tacky kind} and shoes. Rumor has it, she won't be skimping on her fabulous fabric selection or those important little details that make Vera so sought after. Not too shabby, I’d have to say!

oh so pretty

While paroozing the internet I usually find myself thinking things like: how did I ever live without this newly discovered Willie Nelson throw pillow. Or while making daily visits to my much-loved wedding blogs I can’t help but to think things like: man, if only I had added that uber creative “our family tree” sign-in to my wedding…
Last week I spotted this classic and oh so sophisticated Monique Lhuillier wedding dress and couldn’t stop staring… yep, still oogling and still L-O-V-I-N-G it. So much so that I just had to share.

belle of the ball... i mean wedding

I had big plans to show off our newest lighting inventory today, but my brain has been failing me lately and allowed me leave the considerably necessary camera-to-computer adaptor at home this morning. Consequently, I will not be able to post the pictures I was so eager to share. Sad, I know. So just sit tight and I will introduce this inventory next week, I promise!

But I am the type that is always prepared for something to go wrong. Hmmm, does that make me cynical or well organized?! Either way, here is my backup blog for the day...

Some moments really stop you in your tracks. A perfect sunset, an amazing first kiss, a sip of milk gone bad. But ahhh... my latest pleasant pause was the first sight of Vera Wang's Diana dress. The bodice is so clean and soft and the drama and romance of the tiered layers... Oh geez, I'm sold. I LOVE this gown.
