This weekend we poured our heart into producing a spectacular wedding at the Vineyard, but it was also spent longing to be in Wilmington, NC. Reliving an amazing time in my life, with the love of my life and twenty of our closest family and friends. From the haunted ghost pub crawl and spending a day at the beach fighting the waves to our wedding ceremony at Airlie Gardens and reception at Level 5 Bar. I feel in love while on a month road trip to NC, during our engagement, a photo of the Oak Tree at Airlie Gardens was projected on screen as he knelt down to propose and a year later we married beneath that same 500 year old tree—I love NC, but I love my mister even more. Happy year 2 to my best friend!

It kills me to hear brides say that flowers aren’t important to their event. WHhhhhAT?! Flowers are the most important element in a wedding… to me at least.  I mean, really, have you seen an episode of The Housewives of Beverly Hills or E’s Fashion Police without a badass arrangement somewhere in the shot? I’ll answer that for you… NO... that just doesn’t happen on those shows and nor should it on your wedding day either. Flower child or not, don’t floating arrangements make you smile…

It’s so true, there’s definitely a popular color combination and style amongst most brides lately. I’m sure you can take a guess… yep, muted colors and a vintage style! Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE this look, but as a floral designer and stylist, I want more. And by more, I mean more color. I can’t get enough color!

and we're back!

It’s been so long… too long. I’ve missed this and I’ve missed you! Since the last time we spoke, you wouldn’t believe all the wonderful things going on here at Sweet Sunday Events. From the un-freakin’-believable weddings being thrown to our newly improved specialty rental selections… it’s almost too much for me to handle… and keep all to myself! Though I can’t exactly share the photos from THE MOST AMAZING Anthropologie wedding ever {in hopes that it gets swooped up and featured in a wedding magazine}, I find it completely rewarding that three weeks after the event I’m still receiving the sweetest messages like this one from the Mother of the Bride...

“Honestly Katy, there is NO WAY it {the wedding} could have possibly happened without you and Justin. Even if we had an unlimited budget, there was literally no one in Austin, or anywhere for that matter, that could understand what Shelby wanted but YOU!!!! There are some things money just CANNOT buy and giftedness is one of them. So thankful you are using your gifts to bring fun and joy to this world Katy!!!”

Eeeek! I can’t wait to share more… Okay, okay that’s enough talking about something you can’t see just yet ;) It’s finally Friday, isn’t it?! Favorite Wedding Friday! And boy, oh boy, do I have a stellar event to share. I came across it on Style Me Pretty weeks ago and I am still in awe of its splendid awesomeness. I mean this Bride went ALL out. I’ve never seen anything like it. Have you?
