here.there.everywhere

We’ve been so busy spreading the word and work of Sweet Sunday Events over the last few weeks, it’s been nearly impossible to keep up with the blog. Hopefully we have had the chance to chat at one of the numerous open houses or bridal shows, but if not here’s some eye candy you’ve missed out on…

And be sure to meet our friends...

my best friend

Diamonds are {most} girls' best friend, but on the contrary-- pearls have, and will always be there for me!

hearts + arrows

Being a total dork while watching the Housewives Reunion Part 3, I decided to do a little research on the origin of Valentine’s Day for you lovely folks. Legend has it that an evil Roman Emperor once ordered all young men to remain single. He did this because he thought married men made for lousy soldiers. Jerk. Secretly, a priest named Valentine performed marriage ceremonies for young men and their ladies. He later got arrested and thrown in jail for this…buuut still, how romantic!

Sweet Sunday Events definitely appreciates Mr. Valentine for believing in love, because we love weddings. I also love that Gramma and Grampa sent me an XXL Edible Arrangements package filled with chocolate covered strawberries. Hope you and yours have a love and chocolate filled day.

sweet overload

Let's just come to terms with it already. We all have a bit of kid in us all, still as adults. Well, at least I know I still have a bit of fat kid in me! Although I was a weird child who loved broccoli {Yeah, seriously. So weird.}, I still remember loading up on homemade donuts, running after the ice cream man {my brother and I had a no fail system in catching that guy} and oh-my! Great American Cookie Co. sweets-- I still crave cookie sandwiches! A wedding sounds like the perfect occasion to let our inner fat kid break out for a night of indulgence, don't you think?!

favorite {wedding} friday

It's pretty common for me to be so uninspired and bored by most weddings posted in the blogosphere-- I know, I know, bahhh-humbug, right?! But boy did my eyes widen as the hair on my arms raised as soon as I clicked on 100 Layer Cake's blog and the wedding of my dreams loaded on the computer screen. The warm indie feeling of the photos, the dinner party-esque setup and not to mention we rent out many of the items used in this wedding-- the mismatched vintage glasses, chairs and we've hand dipped feathers in paint just as they did over the dance floor...

imperfect is just perfect

Unbalanced arrangements get me every.time. Those with a dose of whimsy add so much more personality in any space than the uppity rounded and over thought centerpieces of the past. Just look how fabulous these free flowing flowers look...

leopard lovin’

Latest obsession, leopard print.  Pairing a leopard flat with some skinnies or making an ensemble pop with a leopard belt brings out the inner glam diva.  Wouldn’t this be a fun pattern to bring into an event?  Done correctly, animal print can add the perfect amount of fun to your design without being overbearing.  Just think about it… and don’t be afraid to take a step outside of your box.  Rarrr!
Side note: We have big plans for leopard print paired with neons in our next photo shoot. Excited? Well, you should be!

two sticks and yarn

We mentioned earlier this season that we have shifted our interest from “antique” to all things “mod”.  Adding a knitted pattern to contemporary furniture and accents is still A-OK, though.  It gives a softness that is often lost in more modern designs…and who doesn’t like soft things?  Come on, chairs get cold too! Next on the agenda, learn how to knit.

oh, deer

Who loves antlers? We do, we do! And apparently so do a few of our awesome Spring brides. You probably think rustic when you hear antlers, but oh no,no,no, think whimsy and mid century modern. With the small addition of antlers to your wedding decor you get a sense of warmth and fun, just like this...
